It was earlier reported that members of the Bose family would meet Modi to press for the declassification of secret files on Netaji lying with the Central government.
"There was some miscommunication on the issue. We do not have any appointment at the PMO on May 17," Chandra Bose said adding the family was in the process of getting an appointment with the prime minister.
Netaji's niece Chitra Ghosh and another grandnephew Abhijit Ray too said the family had not received any such invitation.
Union Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary had told Lok Sabha on Tuesday that there was no proposal to probe into the spying issue.
