No respite from heat wave in Pb, Haryana

Blistering heat wave conditions today gave no respite to residents of Punjab and Haryana as mercury hovered several notches above normal at most of places in both the states.
According to MeT office, Hisar in Haryana continued to be the hottest place as it sizzled at 45 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala recorded the maximum day temperature at 43.4 degrees C, up by four degrees above normal while Narnaul and Bhiwani settled at 43 degrees C and 44.2 degrees C respectively.
Karnal had a high of 43.8 degrees C, up by six notches above normal.
Union Territory Chandigarh settled at 42.6 degrees C, four notches above normal.
In Punjab, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Patiala recorded the maximum day temperatures at 46.0 degrees C, 45.6 degrees C and 45.5 degrees C respectively, rising by up to five notches above normal.
MeT office, in a forecast, said that duststorm or thunderstorm with light rain may occur at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab during next 24 hours.
