"The government has decided to allot Rs 10 lakh to every panchayat to take up development schemes in their areas to strengthen and empower the local bodies," Soren said in the Assembly.
Responding to Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Prajatantric MLA Nirbhay Sahabadi's question whether MLAs would be involved in development works of panchayats, Soren said they were already getting Rs 3 crore to work in their constituencies.
To another query by JVM MLA Chandrika Matha, Soren said the setting up of a Dalit Commission was in process.
Earlier during the Question Hour, Finance Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh said some more members would be added to the three-member ministerial sub-committee set up recently to define the local policy.
A report of the committee would be submitted by the time the budget session begins.
