CPI(M) Politbureau member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today claimed that a non-congress and non-BJP government will come to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme 'Dilli Chalo' of Calicut Press Club here, Balakrishnan said the Congress party has been isolated nationally and BJP will not be able to put up a better performance in the polls.
Many congress ministers and MPs had resigned from that party and in that situation, Congress would find it difficult to even get three figure mark in the elections, he said.
Both the UPA Government at the Centre and UDF Government in the state had failed to do anything to control the rising prices of essential goods, he alleged.
Balakrishnan alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had lost the right to continue in office against the backdrop of the High Court's strong remarks against the office of the Chief Minister.
The congress has already accepted defeat, he said, adding ministers are running away from contesting.
To a query why veteran CPI(M) leader V S Achuthanandan was not campaigning in northern part of Kerala, he said "VS is not afraid to campaign anywhere in the state. We will face the elections unitedly."
Criticising the Revolutionary Marxist Party, he said RSP had moved over to UDF "as per earlier understanding.
