NSIT Director appointed VC of Delhi Technological University

Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Yogesh Singh, was today appointed as the new vice chancellor of Delhi Technological University.
Singh was holding the post as additional charge following the office falling vacant in September 2015.
His predecessor Pradeep Kumar, had resigned from the post, in August 2015, four years before his term comes to an end, citing personal reasons.
"The government of Delhi has appointed Professor Yogesh Singh as the new Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University for a term of five years," an official statement said.
Singh has been the VC of the Maharaja Sayjirao University of Baroda from July 2011 to July 2014.
He received MTech in electronics and communication engineering and PhD (computer engineering) degrees from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana.
He is listed as third best amongst the most productive India authors for participating in Software Engineering Research reported in "Indian Computer Science Research Output during 1999-2008: Qualitative Analysis" Journal of Library and Information Technology, November 2010.
Singh has also authored a book on "Software Testing" published by Cambridge University Press, England.
He was member of the General Council of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and an independent Director of Gujarat State Petro net Limited and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporations Ltd. (Government of Gujarat Undertakings) since May, 2013 and March, 2015 respectively.
