NTPC's Deputy Superintendent (Operation and Maintenance) Sanjay Dev Burman was arrested by the NTPC police from his official residence in compliance with an order of a court in West Bengal's Malda district, NTPC police station SHO Sunil Kumar said.
Burman's wife Monika Dev Burman had lodged two cases against him at the Kahalgaon police station for perpetrating atrocities on her before ending her life by taking poison in Malda district on June 12.
Her father Bharat Kumar Trivedi had lodged a FIR at a police station in Malda district against the NTPC officer holding him responsible for the suicide committed by his daughter.
A court in Malda district had, by an order dated July 1, issued arrest warrant against Burman and sent a copy to the Bhagalpur authorities for compliance.
