Nursing advisor arrested for accepting Rs 5 lakh bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a nursing advisor of Indian Nursing Council at a hospital here for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for providing no-objection certificate to a client.
The accused, Mahesh Chandra, who was a second grade compounder at the SMS hospital along with his aide Rajendra Saini were arrested in a raid, ACB spokesperson said.
Ramesh Chand Saini, owner of a new nursing college, had lodged a complaint with the ACB against Mahesh who had allegedly demanded the bribe for issuing NOC and raising number of seats in the college, the spokesperson said.
The accused was booked under the Anti-Corruption Act, she said.
ACB team led by Sanjeev Nain, ASP-ACB, also conducted the search operations at Mahesh's offices and residence and seized various documents, she said.
