further reduction in the bus fare today in view of cut in the price of disel, state Tranport and Commerce Minister Ramesh Majohi said.
Fares were cut by one paise per kmr for ordinary and express buses in the state, Majhi said adding that fares had been reduced by 2 paise per kilometer for deluxe and AC deluxe buses.
The new fares will be effective from today, the minister said.
Diesel prices fell by Rs 2.25 on October 31 for the second time in the last one month.
Now, the passengers will have to pay 62 paise per km to travel in ordinary buses whereas express buses will charge 85 paise per km after the state governemnt decided to cut fares today.
The state government decided to reduce bus fares again after oil companies cut diesel prices by Rs 2.25 per litre a few days back.
