Youth Congress activists today showed black flags to Union Minister Giriraj Singh in the state capital here today, police said.
The Congress workers staged a demonstration before the minister when he was returning after visiting the Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC).
The activists also attempted to intercept the minister's vehicle but were stopped by policemen, sources said.
"We will protest visit of any Union Minister to Odisha," Youth Congress state President, Lokanath Maharathy said.
The incident took place a day after the Union Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises blamed the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru's education policy.
"It is unfortunate that policy makers of this country have not been able to create skilled manpower. I don't want to name Nehruji. But due to Nehruji's faulty policy, the country has only 2.5 per cent of its population as skilled hands while 96 per cent people are skilled in developed nations," the Union Minister had said yesterday.
