Transportation platform Ola today said it has appointed ex-Goldman Sachs executive, Sunil Shirguppi as Vice President, Engineering.

The former Goldman Sachs vice-president will primarily be working towards enhancing capabilities in data science and Machine Learning at Ola, Ola said in a statement.

"Sunil's experience in data sciences at Goldman Sachs and LinkedIn makes him a valuable addition to Ola. As an organisation, we churn tons of valuable data every single day and this can be continuously used to build a superior experience for both drivers and consumers," Ola co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Ankit Bhati said.

His experience and expertise will help Ola scale its engineering capabilities to enable mobility for a billion Indians, he added.

In this role, Shirguppi will work closely with Bhati in areas, including consumer analytics, behavioral analytics and other data platform capabilities.

He has over 15 years of experience in data sciences across global majors like Goldman Sachs, LinkedIn and Electronic Arts.
