Holt, 17, joins Renee Zellweger, Greg Kinnear, Djimon Hounsou and Jon Voight in the film, which is based on the nonfiction book by Ron Hall and Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Michael Carney is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alexander Foard and Hall. The film is currently shooting in Jackson, Mississippi.
The story centres on Ron Hall (Kinnear), an international art dealer who must befriend a dangerous homeless man (Hounsou) in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife, Debbie (Zellweger). Holt will play Regan, the daughter of Ron and Debbie Hall.
