"The NC is the fountainhead of corruption and it will only need an honest investigation of allegations against its top leadership to bring them to justice," Mehbooba said addressing a series of election rallies in Pulwama district to enlist support for the party candidates.
Referring to Omar's allegations against PDP on corruption issue, Mehbooba said if impartial investigations are conducted into the scams of the present government, some of NC's prominent leaders would "end up in jail".
"The prosecution in the case was reportedly blocked on the intervention of the Chief Minister's office to save the NC leadership from landing up in jail," she said.
"Omar's alleged involvement in the mysterious murder of Haji Yousuf at the official residence of Omar Abdullah is a case of political and moral corruption and is still awaiting thorough investigation. The Haji Yousuf murder case is in fact still pending before the Supreme Court," she added.
