One arrested in head constable murder case

A person, wanted in 23 cases including murder of a Delhi Police head constable, was arrested from Rohini area in Outer Delhi, police said today.
Ram Niwas was arrested yesterday in Rohini when he was on his way to meet his associates, said police.
A loaded country made pistol was recovered from his possession. Niwas belongs to gang of Neetu Dabodha who along with another member Sandeep Chitana had escaped from the custody of Gurgaon Police in March, 2012 from Dwarka area.
Several cash rewards have been declared by Delhi Police and other state police forces like Haryana Police on the arrest of accused Dabodha, said police.
"Head Constable Ramkishan was shot dead by the four occupants of a white car on the intervening night of November 25-26, 2012, when he tried to stop the car owing to suspicious movement while on checking duty at village Jonti police picket in Outer District.
"A month later on December 10, one of the accused Sandeep was arrested. He revealed the car occupants were Dabodha, a dreaded criminal, and his associates who visited village Tatesar that night," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
On Saturday, after a tip of Niwas was arrested near State Transport Authority, Sec. 16 Rohini.
During interrogation, Niwas revealed that he came in contact with Dabodha in Bhondasi Jail. Investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest Dabodha and other accused, said Yadav.
