The umpires took the players off the field after the flood light tower situated on the North-western side of the ground went off.
The incident happened in the eighth over of the Brisbane innings while chasing 136 to win.
"A minor fault in the gen-set had led to the snapping of power, and it took just about ten minutes to restore," said an office-bearer of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association.
Earlier there had been a blackout during the closing ceremony of the 53rd Senior Inter-state Athletics Championship at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium here.
The closing ceremony was marred with Jharkhand Sports Minister Geetashree Oraon giving away prizes to the winners in the dim lights of mobile handsets.
The organisers had said there were 50 gen-sets in the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium but none of them was functioning.
