The incident took place last night when the MSRTC bus which was going to Junoni from Asangaon, slipped off the road and overturned near Momblichapada area in Shahapur taluka, killing one person on the spot, sub-inspector of Khinavali Police Station V S Bhangre said.
The 18 injured passengers, which also included some women, were taken to Shahapur rural hospital. Later, seven of them were shifted to Thane Civil Hospital, he said.
The deceased was identified as Jaitu Hema Bodka (45), a resident of Shahapur taluka.
