Accused Rajendra Prasad alias Rocky was arrested at Hitech City Railway Station in Madhapur here by Cyber Crime sleuths attached with CID.
During the interrogation the accused confessed that since he was in deep financial crisis, he wanted to earn easy money by cheating unemployed youths online by offering them jobs, police said.
Rocky had incurred huge debts and hatched a plan to cheat people by offering jobs to them in multi-national companies of IT, they said.
As part of the plan, the accused induced one engineering graduate (complainant) and sent him fake/forged offer letters of an IT giant.
He then asked him to deposit huge amounts into two beneficiary accounts, from where he syphoned off the same, a police officer said.
The accused extracted approximately an amount of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant of this particular case and also two other victims, police added.
