The incident occurred in the wee hours today at the terminal-3 of the IGIA when CISF sleuths intercepted an incoming air passenger, identified as Shoukath Chellankath (31) of Kannur district in Kerala, and took him for frisking.
"During checking, 3.5 kg gold which includes three biscuits of one kg each and one gold bar of 500gm was recovered from his possession. He had concealed the gold in his shoes. Chellankath has been handed over to Customs authorities," Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) spokesperson Hemendra Singh said.
