"Rajendra Singh Hada, 30, opened fire at Roshan Harijan with his country made pistol just in front of police control room in city Kotwali police station area around 5 PM," Gopi Singh Shekawat, Deputy Superintend of Police (Dy SP) told PTI.
Harijan sustained injuries in his neck in the firing and is undergoing medical treatment in a government hospital, he added.
According to police, Hada and Harijan have past rivalry over money related issues. Hada is murder convict and was presently out of jail on parole.
The incident created panic in the city as firing took place on a Sunday evening when the market area was full of people.
