Police said the deceased, identified as Bhagwan Mandal, was part of a marriage party moving by a tractor from Sameli to a famous Durga Temple at Kursela where several marriage ceremonies were conducted.
All the persons travelling by the tractor were injured and admitted to a nearby Primary Health Centre. Three of them were in serious condition, police said.
The SUV occupants fled the spot leaving behind their vehicle which was seized by the police.
