One killed, 33 injured in accident on Mumbai-Goa Highway

One person was killed and 33 others injured in an accident on the Mumbai-Goa Highway near here in coastal Maharashtra today, police said.
The mishap, involving two trucks, took place at around 5.30 am in Bhoste Ghat near Khed town. The injured included members of a local drama party, who were going to Ambdas from Khed, they said.
A truck carrying 50 passengers was passing through the Bhoste Ghat when another speeding truck coming from opposite direction collided with it.
Thirty-four passengers were injured and one of them, Santosh Shivaji Gomle, died at a local hospital in the afternoon. The others are being treated at the hospital, they added.
