Divyansh, who owned the SUV, was killed in the accident while the other four occupants escaped without a scratch.
The incident occurred on the night of May 6 when the five friends were returning to Vasundhara Colony after having dinner at a restaurant in Indirapuram, SP (City) Aakash Tomar said.
Divyansh, in a bid to give way to another vehicle coming from opposite side, lost control of the vehicle which crashed through the cemented wall and railings, and plunged into the canal.
The four men--Ashutosh, Peeyush, Drone and Bhupesh--were saved by divers.
A team of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and other divers fished out Divyansh after two hours. He was immediately rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, the officer added.
