Four men were arrested yesterday while the fifth person was arrested today, police said.
Salem Divison DIG Vidhya Kulkarni told PTI that Namagiripet SI Lokanathan has been placed under suspension for not registering a case immediately and not taking action against the culprits besides not getting the victim and her injured lover admitted to hospital and not informing higher officials.

sago factory and were returning home on Monday night when they were accosted by the gang.
