shot dead by an unidentified person along the Indo-Bhutan border in Assam's Chirang district this afternoon, police said.
The person, identified as 45-year old Kulbahadur Giri was returning with his 14-year old son from the weekly market at Gelephu in neighbouring Bhutan when he was shot dead by an unidentified person near Aie river between Dadgiri and Malibhita.
Giri's son said the miscreant fired two shots from a pistol and killed his father on the spot.
Police have rushed to the spot and have launched a search operation to nab the culprit.
All Gorkha organisations of the district have condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
