Opinion poll: Will not become complacent, says BJP

Buoyed by a pre-poll survey which gave it a majority in Bihar polls, BJP today said its "wave" will turn into a "tsunami" but insisted that the party was not going to be complacent.
The opposition RJD, however, rejected the key findings of the survey claiming to win the election with a massive majority.
"We have been working hard for the last 25 months. The kind of response I have got, I can say that it is a wave, which may change into a tsunami," Bihar BJP chief Sushil Kumar Modi told India Today.
Asked about the poll giving the BJP a very "close shave", he said,"These are initial figures and I think they will only increase as the election draws closer."

Stating that his party was getting a positive response on the ground, Modi said,"I don't really believe in such poll figures and the survey might be in our favour or against, but we are not going to be complacent."
On a question about Nitish Kumar emerging as the most favoured candidate for the post of chief ministership, Modi termed it as "obvious" saying that it was natural for anybody who has been serving so long, to be seen as leading.

The Opposition grand alliance's Sharad Yadav, however, rejected the poll results saying, "For, 35-40 years, I have been seeing these polls. I have never taken them seriously.

He claimed that these findings would turn false. "We are winning this election with massive majority," he said.
An opinion poll has given majority to NDA in the upcoming Bihar polls. BJP and its allies have been projected as getting 125 seats in a House of 423.
The pre-poll survey, conducted by Cicero for India Today channel, gave the JD(U)-led "grand alliance" 106 in an election that it said could be "very, very close".
Meanwhile, former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi said,"There are no worries in seat-sharing within the NDA.
On differences with Paswan, he said, "these are mere speculations, we are soon going to finalise all seats although we might keep the details secret."

When asked about his comparison with Ram Vilas Paswan, Manjhi said, "Everybody works for the benefit of the backward. You will see it in the elections in October when it will be clear that who is getting how many seats.
