Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said his political opponents were indulging in false propaganda despite his government doing much more for the welfare of farmers compared to other states.
"When compared to neighbouring states, it is the Samajwadi Party government which has done maximum work for the welfare of farmers... They should learn from us how we have benefitted the farmers by providing four time benefits in cases of land acquisition," Yadav was quoted in a party release here.
"Noteworthy development has taken place in the three years of the SP government but the opponents are indulging in false propaganda," he said, adding that even those who are getting benefits from the government schemes are not aware as to how the SP government is helping them.
"We will have to work unitedly in a planned manner to ensure that people are not misled by our opponents," he said.
"If we tell the people about the welfare schemes which have benefitted all sections of society and win over their trust they will give us another chance," he said.
On the Central government schemes, he said that they have not sought land for any of them and the state government has provided land on its own for AIIMS in Rae Bareli and Gorakhpur.
