An official of the state election commission informed that 60.72 per cent voters had cast their votes till 5 PM.
Final figure of the turn out is being awaited at the commission's control room.
Police had to use mild force to disperse mob outside a polling station in Bikaner where a BJP candidate consumed thinner in place of water, which was given to him by someone inside the polling booth.
"BJP candidate Girraj Joshi was given thinner in place of water in a polling booth which made his health bad, irking his supporters.
"When police was taking nearly a dozen persons from opposition party from there, their supporters (opposition) pelted stones at the police prompting us to use mild force to control the situation," SP Bikaner Santosh Chalke said.
The situation was brought under control but it affected polling for some time.
"We have detained six persons in connection with the stone pelting. The BJP candidate is in hospital and being treated," he added.
