BJP said in their "hate politics" against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaders like Owaisi have begun opposing 'Mother India'.
"Owaisi and some other leaders are speaking the language of Hafiz Saeed. They should not do it for cheap popularity. He should not insult the motherland. While opposing Modi, he has now started opposing Mother India," BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
He said it was "height of vote bank politics" that on the one hand, Owaisi is making such statements, while on the other, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Left leaders are supporting those who raise slogans in support of breaking up India.
Owaisi's programme in Lucknow today was cancelled after he was denied permission by the district administration to hold a meeting on grounds of "law and order situation" in the state.
