Pak: 7 injured in Karachi blast

At least seven people including security personnel were injured when a remote-controlled bomb went off in Pakistan's biggest city today.
Police said that seven people including some Rangers personnel were injured when explosives rigged to a motorcycle exploded near the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers headquarters in Karachi's North Nazimabad area.
In the last 48 hours, the city has seen a surge in violence with around 20 people being killed in targeted killings.
Those killed include Shia scholars and workers of a Sunni religious party.
"The explosion caused damage to the nearby shops and due to its intensity windows of nearby buildings were shattered," police official, Imran Shaukat said.

He said the bomb disposal squad had reached the spot and were investigating the site.

This is not the first time bomb attacks have been carried out at the Rangers headquarters in Nazimabad as previously two such incidents took place at the same site.
In November 2012, a suicide bomber had rammed an explosives-laden pickup truck into the gate of the headquarters building killing three Rangers personnel, while at least 26 people were injured.
Karachi, the country's financial hub, is currently the scene of security operations against terrorists, target killers and other criminals elements and mafias active in the restive city.
