In a first, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have launched an online FIR service for overseas Pakistanis through its official website.
If Pakistanis from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who are staying abroad and facing problems like land grabbing back here, they can just log on to the website and file their complaint, a senior police official said.
The online FIR facility was launched in June and now it has been extended to overseas Pakistanis.
"After launching the online FIR service, we felt a need to provide the facility to overseas Pakistanis as they also face many problems," Inspector General Police Ihsan Ghani said yesterday.
The services offered include getting a police clearance certificate or filing a complaint against land grabbers or any other problem.
Once the FIR is registered, the relevant police station will be directed to take action.
Overseas complainants must fill a form providing their name, father's name, address in K-P, name of the country they currently reside in, name of police station, passport number and national identity card number.
Following this, the complaint will be registered automatically. Overseas Pakistanis will also have access to an online complaint facility against police officials.
The provincial government, headed by
cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, had also launched mobile courts, which was again a first.
