"An X-ray of Imran Khan's backbone was carried out, which showed tremendous improvement," said Ijaz Chaudhry, a leader of the Punjab chapter of the Tehrik-e-Insaf.
Khan, seriously injured when he fell off a forklift during an election rally in Lahore on May 7, had been declared completely fit to travel, Chaudhry said.
The cricketer-turned-politician Khan is expected to take oath as a member of the National Assembly or lower house of parliament on June 20 in Islamabad.
He announced that his party would launch a country-wide protest against the "anti-people" budget for 2013-14 unveiled by the PML-N government yesterday.
