As soon as the House met at 2 PM after two adjournments in the pre-lunch sitting, Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda took up the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agriculture University Bill for consideration and passage.
But, JD(U) and AIADMK members rushed to the Well. JD(U) was demanding special category status for Bihar, while AIADMK sought special package for Tamil Nadu.
Some Samajwadi Party members and Jagdambika Pal (Cong) also trooped into the Well, but their demands could not be heard.
Soon after the legislation was passed by voice vote amid din, Munda adjourned the House till 3 PM.
The bill has already been passed by Rajya Sabha.
The jurisdiction of the proposed university will extend to the Bundelkhand region covering seven districts in Uttar Pradesh and six in Madhya Pradesh.
In the preliminary stage, the bill proposes to establish two colleges in Jhansi and later two in Madhya Pradesh.
