Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said parties doing good work are retaining power in states and claimed no one can match his government in terms of achievements.
"A good trend is seen these days with the parties coming back to power (in Assembly elections), either because of their achievements, works or because of organisation," he told a Rozgar Mela here.
Claiming that his government has undertaken a balanced path to development, Yadav said maximum number of bicycles have been distributed under government schemes.
"The laptops distributed to students, when switched on, display the pictures of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and myself. The same needs to be done with the bicycles so as to make those recognisable. The officials will have to see to it," he said.
He stressed on the need for publicity and said, "In democracy we have to tell people what we have done for them to vote us back to power...We have not passed any examination but are here because of people's votes," he said.
Asserting that no one can match his government in terms of achievements, Yadav claimed that the Samajwadi Party dispensation has created the most conducive atmosphere for investment and setting up industry in the country.
"A lot of work is being done in developing infrastructure which will enhance employment opportunities in the state which is poised to have maximum youths," he said.
In a veiled dig at BJP, he said, those who promised to bring 'achche din' and have more than 70 MPs from this state needs to be asked as to what they have done for their areas in over two years now.
