Pathan group to seek recognition from BCCI

The "working president" of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Vasundhara Raje loyalist Amin Pathan today said that he would seek recognition from BCCI having "ousted" Lalit Modi with the help of 23 out of the 33 district unit of the state body.
It was a day of confusion as both Lalit Modi group and Pathan group made their pleas to the police who later in the evening allowed the latter to enter the RCA office situated in the North Block of the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.
"We have support of 23 out of 33 units and a few more districts are likely to join us. We told the authorities that we have the majority and we can prove it physically. We have also apprised BCCI about the new developments and they have asked us to present the documents. They have assured us that if the documents are legally correct, then there would be no difficulty I reinstating RCA," Pathan told PTI today.

"The Rajasthan cricket is suffering. It was shameful that a team of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) was not being allowed to play in domestic cricket. We were told by Lalit Modi and his confidantes that there would be no harm to Rajasthan cricket and they would get the permission from BCCI.
"But nothing has happened till now except court cases. We had tried to convince Lalit Modi that he should resign for the sake of Rajasthan Cricket but nothing happened and that is why we had to come together for the sake cricket," said Pathan refuting that his move was had the politically backing.

"There is no question of political backing. I have been cricketer and all of my colleagues too felt that it was Rajasthan Cricket which was suffering because all of this. We have the majority and Lalit Modi and his men would be left only with his few lawyers," said Pathan, who was one of the most loyal supporters a till couple of days back.
