The NOS have been developed by the Security Knowledge & Skill Development Council (SKSDC), constituted under the National Skill Policy of the government.

The NOS, Curriculum, Training and Certification processes will be applied for up skilling projects covering 7 million private security guards presently working in India.

The private security sector (PSS) is growing at the rate of 25 per cent annually and generates more than 12 lakh jobs for rural youth and urban poor.

Kunwar Vikram Singh, Chairman of the Central Association of Private security Industry (CAPSI) and the Association of Private Detectives of India (APDI) said understanding and corresponding preparedness of the private security sector will work as force multiplier for the governmental internal security organisations largely responsible to handle such upheavals.
