The project is being produced by David Heyman, which is based on Roald Dahl's classic childrens book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", Variety reported.
Simon Rich has written the new script.
The plot focuses on the book published in 1964, which revolves around an 11-year-old Charlie Bucket and the eccentric chocolatier, Willy Wonka, who decides to re-open his factory.
He allows five children to come on a tour of the factory after they find a golden ticket in a Wonka Bar.
Gene Wilder famously portrayed Wonka in the 1971 film adaptation titled Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
