Indian shuttler Anand Pawar notched up a straight-game victory over Ukraine's Kyrylo Leonov to reach the second round of the Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold in Saarbrucken, Germany.
Fifth seeded Pawar thrashed Leonov 21-12 21-13 in a 25-minute men's singles match. The World number 33 Indian will next take on the Netherlands Erik Meijs.
However, it was end of the road for Arvind Bhat as the Indian lost to third seed Rajiv Ouseph of England 12-21 17-21 in another men's singles match.
Pawar opened up a 3-0 lead early on and didn't allow the Ukrainian to reduce the gap. He dominated the proceedings and moved swiftly to 9-4 and then 14-5 to eventually pocket the first game.
In the second game, Leonov's fight lasted for the initial four points as after that Pawar once again surged ahead and sealed the match without much ado.
