Pb min expresses concern over teachers deputed for other work

Concerned at increasing practice of various wings of education department and different departments deputing teachers for non-academic work, Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema today constituted a high-level 21 members committee to work out a viable solution to it.
He had received representations from union in connection with the issue as the practice was adversely affecting the teaching work, he said here.
"Primary job of teachers is academic and there should be no compromise on teaching quality. Committee has been directed to submit a report within two months," he said.
The committee, headed by Harbhupinder Singh, Secretary, School Education, will have 21 members, he said.
