"There had been strong personalities who had spearheaded the Jharkhand movement down the ages, but this part of the region lacked political leadership right from undivided Bihar days, causing a leadership vacuum in the initial years of the state's creation," the former deputy chief minister said here.
Claiming that the political parties that had ruled the undivided Bihar could not groom "good leaders" in this part of the region, Mahto said, "We have had enough (governments), now let's move with new thoughts, initiatives and connecting every person of the state in one string that could prevent from throwing another fractured mandate."
Stating that the party is preparing to contest all the 81 assembly seats and 14 Lok Sabha segments, Mahto expressed hope that the state assembly would be dissolved at the earliest to pave way for elections soon.
On being asked whether the party would go for a post-poll alignment, Mahto said "We have not yet decided upon that".
