Peruvian national arrested with cocaine

In one of the largest seizures of pure cocaine, a Peruvian national has been arrested outside IGI airport here for allegedly possessing 1,300 grams of the contraband with street value of Rs 65 crore.
The accused, identified as Lopez Reyes, was arrested on April 13 following a tip off after he arrived from Sao Paulo via Dubai.
"This is one of the largest ever seizures of pure cocaine. The drugs were worth Rs 65 crore. They were concealed in cavities of trolley bag and wrapped in 4 layers of plastic, silver foil, black PVC, rapper to avoid X ray detection," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.

A case under NDPS Act has been registered and further investigations are on, police said.
