The musical comedy directed by Jason Moore has earned USD 112 million worldwide, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Kay Cannon, who penned "Pitch Perfect" will write the screenplay for the sequel as well but the producers are yet to announce the names of other cast members.
The first film was loosely adapted from Mickey Rapkin's non-fiction novel, also titled 'Pitch Perfect'.
According to Universal, the film earned over USD 90 million across all home market platforms, and it currently stands as the studio's third highest-grossing VOD title ever after blockbusters "Ted" and "Bridesmaids".
"Pitch Perfect" starred Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp in prominent roles among others.
