A complaint was today filed in a court here against 'PK' actor Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and others for allegedly hurting the sentiment of Hindus in the film.
The petitioner, Bharatiya Jan Kranti Dal General Secretary Rakesh Dutta Mishra, has also named Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi an accused in the case for allowing the film to be screened in theatres in the state.
Actor Anushka Sharma and Censor Board chairperson Leela Samson have also been made accused in the case.
Mishra filed the case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Bharat Singh who would hear the matter tomorrow.
The case was filed under various IPC sections including 124A (Sedition), 153A (Promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, race, etc), 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings), and 298 (Uttering words, etc, with intent to wound religious feelings of any person).
The Bihar government has made the movie tax free. "We have decided to make it tax free to ensure that the poorest of the poor can watch the film that exposes the superstition and fraud taking place in the name of religion," Chief Minister Manjhi had said.
