Madhya Pradesh BJP today filed a police complaint against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, alleging that her party's website resorted to false statements while using former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's name on it.
The complaint was filed by state spokesmen Vijendra Singh Sisodiya in the presence of party leader Deepak Vijaywargia and media in-charge Hitesh Bajpai.
In the complaint, the party said the Congress was resorting to "false statements" in a bid to entice voters.
The saffron party sought action against the Congress President under various sections of the IPC and cyber law.
On its official website, Congress has heaped praise on Atal Bihari Vajpayee to attack BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, asking how can a person whom the tallest leader of BJP "wanted removed" as CM in the wake of Gujarat riots, be the party's PM candidate.
"How can a person whom the tallest leader of the BJP wanted removed as chief minister, be the party's Prime Ministerial candidate?," Congress, which also a posted a picture of Vajpayee on its website, said.
