Pleasant winds added to the festive mood in the national capital on Independence Day as the national flag at the ramparts of the Red Fort fluttered in full glory today.
With temperature remaining at comfortable levels, people thronged public places like Connaught Place and the India Gate lawns to celebrate the country's 68th Independence Day.
The humidity hovered between 71 and 53 per cent.
As the sky remained a little overcast throughout the day, people came out and flew kites, mostly in parts of old Delhi.
According to the MeT department official, the maximum temperature settled down at 35.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average and marginally less from yesterday.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
"Traces of rains which are too less to be measured were recorded in Ridge area. However, areas under Palam, Safdarjung and Ayanagar observatory received no rainfall," said the weatherman.
The weatherman predicted partly cloudy sky along with the possibility of light rain in some parts of the national capital.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 35 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
