Jammu and Kashmir Congress today hit out at the state and Narendra Modi-led governments accusing them of giving a free hand to Hurriyat leadership and called for an explaination about the waving of Pak flags and statements of Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Amarnath yatra period.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and state Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh need to give an answer for things happening in state these days as free hand was given to Hurriyat party leaders with the waving of Pak flag in Geelani's rally and his statement on Amarnath yatra period," state Congress chief Gulam Ahmed Mir told reporters here today.
"When these things happened in the past, the BJP gave hartal calls and protested. Now law and order is also in the hands of BJP at Centre and coalition government in the state, what action are they going to take against culprits. The Congress will see and wants to know", Mir said.
On Pakistan's statement over the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, Mir said "It is due to weak government and leadership at the Centre that they have dared to say so. Otherwise during the Congress regime Pakistan never dared to release statements of interference in our domestic issues".
