"PM Narendra Modi's two-day visit on October 14 and October 15 has been postponed as of now," Uttar Pradesh BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told PTI over phone.
The development was also confirmed by Divisional Commissioner Varanasi R M Srivastava.
Srivastava said that a letter has been received informing that Modi's visit has been postponed and fresh date would be intimated soon.
Modi was scheduled to inaugurate a trauma centre at Banaras Hindu University. He was also to adopt a village under MP Adarsh Gram Yojna during his two day visit.
