The police has lodged three FIRs - two at Bowbazar police station on the basis of which these three Left supporters were arrested - and another at the Hare Street Police Station.
The three were charged under Section 147 (Rioting), Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other sections of the IPC.
The trio, when produced at a city court, were remanded for police custody till October 5.
"They (Left supporters) attacked the police by pelting stones and with sticks holding party flags. We acted as the situation demanded," Mishra said.
The IPS also credited the Force for "staying calm" when Left supporters were "provoking police" in their speeches.
According to Special Additional and Joint Commissioner of Police (TP) Supratim Sarkar, "It was a pre-planned act by the Left supporters during yesterday's march to Lalbazar. In Fierce Lane they broke one cement slab and attacked police with that".
