Police claim to gun down woman naxal in Gadchiroli

The Gadchiroli police today claimed to have gunned down an alleged woman naxal in the jungle of Ranwahi in Dhanora village of the district.
Based on intelligence inputs, a joint anti-naxal operation was conducted at Ranwahi jungle. At around 2 pm when the police were carrying out combing operation in the area naxals opened fire at them to which the security personnel retaliated, said a release issued by the Gadchiroli police.
A woman maoist was killed in the heavy exchange of fire between the police and the naxals, said the release.
It added, other naxals fled into the jungle.
Police recovered a 12 bore gun, naxal literature and other articles of daily use from the spot, said the release.

Identity of the woman naxal is yet to be established, said the release.
