Singh said that keeping in view the forthcoming state assembly elections, all the barracks were checked in which the dreaded criminals and terrorists are locked up.
"Jail authorities were instructed about making adequate arrangements for tightening security," he said.
The police chief along with DM and other officials conducted a search for contraband materials and weapons.
The SSP said that mobile phones were particularly searched in the barracks so that notorious criminals may not terrify the voters and the henchman of the candidates by using mobile phones.
