Pankaj Singh (36), a constable and Radhey Shyam Singh (40), a member of block development committee, were traveling in a car, when five youths riding on two motorbikes intercepted their vehicle. They opened fire on them leaving them dead on the spot, Superintendent of Police Rohit P Kanay said.
Agitated over the incident, locals blocked road demanding arrest of those involved in it.
Circle officer Umashankar Singh said that 20 rounds were fired.
An FIR has been lodged against eight persons, including a former block head, in connection with the incident.
