The police has foiled an abduction bid in Jammu city and arrested one of the three accused, officials said today.
Last evening, the police received information that a man, identified as Rajinder Singh, had been abducted by three people from Shakti Nagar area, they said.
Police swung into action and deployment was stepped up at various checkpoints in the area.
The abductors fled seeing a police Gypsy approaching, leaving behind Singh and their vehicle, police said.
One of the accused was arrested while fleeing and Singh was rescued, they added.
A case has been registered and a hunt to nab the remaining two accused is underway.
